Meet in your hotel lobby at 05:00 AM for a day excursion to Wenchi through scenic hamlets west of the capital. Along the way, visit the Geffersa Reservoir, home to many bird species, and drive across the Menagesha Forest to Ambo, source of Ethiopia's well-known sparkling mineral water. Continue past Ambo town through stunning landscapes to reach Wenchi Crater Lake. From the hilltop you can see a monastery on the lake's island, then trek down to the shore of the crater lake. Take a local boat across to visit the island church, with horse riding and hiking also available as optional activities. In the afternoon, drive back to Addis Ababa and transfer to your hotel.
