

Ethiopia is one of Africa`s richest birding destinations, home to over 900 recorded species, more than 20 of which are found nowhere else on Earth. This tour combines dedicated birding time at the Rift Valley lakes, Bale Mountains and Yabello with Ethiopia`s dramatic landscapes, giving serious birders the best chance at the country`s most sought-after endemics.

| Day 02 | Lake Ziway - Lake Langano Early morning departure to the Rift Valley lakes. Spend the day birding the shores of Lake Ziway, home to pelicans, storks, herons, and thousands of waders, before continuing to Lake Langano. | Day 03 | Abiata-Shalla National Park Full day exploring Abiata-Shalla National Park, known for its soda lakes and dense flamingo populations. The park also holds a wide variety of raptors, storks, and other waterfowl moving between the two lakes. | Overnight at Lake Langano |
| Day 04 | Awash National Park Drive to Awash National Park, where the dry acacia bush zone supports a completely different bird community from the highlands, including the Somali Ostrich and a rich array of bee-eaters and raptors. | Day 05 | Bale Mountains National Park Travel south to the Bale Mountains, gateway to some of Ethiopia`s richest Afro-alpine birding. En route, watch for early highland endemics as the terrain rises toward the Sanetti Plateau. | Overnight at Bale Mountains |
| Day 06 | Sanetti Plateau - Harenna Forest Full day exploring the high Sanetti Plateau, Africa`s largest expanse of Afro-alpine habitat, with target species including the Blue-winged Goose, Spot-breasted Lapwing, and Thick-billed Raven. In the afternoon descend into the Harenna Forest, home to the Abyssinian Woodpecker and Ethiopian Bush-crow. | Overnight at Bale Mountains |

| Day 08 | Liben Plain - Addis Ababa Morning dedicated to searching the Liben Plain for the critically endangered Sidamo Lark. Afterwards, drive back toward Addis Ababa with birding stops along the way at productive roadside habitats, then check in to your hotel. | Departure |
